> KoNECT & Partners> What we do

KoNECT’s primary objectives are to

  • Develop the nation’s clinical trial infrastructure
  • Train and support clinical trial professionals
  • Provide relevant clinical trial-related information and analysis
  • Promote the country’s advanced capabilities while working closely with domestic and
    international partners

Our History

KoNECT was originally established by the Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) in Dec. 2007 as a government-funded non-profit organization responsible for ensuring the success of a landmark clinical trial development project that involved the establishment of 15 specially-designated regional clinical trial centers, training and certification for clinical trial professionals, and the provision of support for the development of new clinical trial technologies.

After widespread recognition of the organization’s success and positive effects, KoNECT was transformed into a foundation in April 2014 to continue its efforts to develop the necessary infrastructure and provide support for sponsors interested in conducting clinical trials in Korea.
